In Her Dreams

On a cozy sofa,
She curls up,
With, a hot cup of joe,
To watch a little CNN,
Or a movie on T.V.

It was, but a few days ago,
She was possessed,
In her lover's,
Strong gentle arms.

Making passionate love,
Struggling through moments,
Of graceful ecstasy,
Reaching blissful heights.

While searching for answers,
In each other's, heart and soul,
As Mother Nature, erupts,
Within them.

Like rockets bursting, in the heavens,
Volcanos overflowing,
Tidal waves, consuming shorelines,
two spent souls, Drifting earth bound.

She has fallen, into a dream,
Between limbo and a twilight zone,
He was there, in a misty haze,
walking towards her,
As she slept, on the sofa.

He gently placed, a kiss,
Upon her sweet tender lips,
Whispering,
"I'll be home soon."

Several knocks, on the door,
Awaken her, In the morning,
Startled, she peered,
Through parted curtains.

There she saw, a neighbor,
A young Marine Lieutenant,
And A Military Chaplain.

William,
This is very sad, I wasn't expecting the ending, but it is one that is a reality.
Very good!

You captured the moment beautifully William, even if the reality is harsh and hurts! You are right it is happening.
