Married His Daugther

He had disappeared
From the face of the earth
So thought his family
So thought many of his friends
Re-appeared after twenty years
He drifted back
To unknowingly
Marry his daughter
It was his destiny.

She saw him tall and handsome
Wondered why, she was so lucky
Still she felt something strange
About this man
Entering into her life
Soon he found himself
Nervously rubbing his hands
At the alter
Facing the congregation
Family and friends.

The night before, he descovered
The Bride was his daughter
And she, That he was her father
They loved each other, so dearly
The wedding must go on
The bride makes her entrance
Beautiful as a heavenly star
The organ begins to recite
The Wedding March.

A diva
Angelically sings a rendition
Of the Ave Maria
So beautifully, not a dry eye
Was left, all wept
He greets her at the alter
Of eternal love
Eyes staring deep
into each other's.

He takes her hand
As he recites, the holy vows
Places her hand, on the groom's
Blessing their matrimony
He pronouces
His daughter and the groom
Man and wife.

Woa! Starts off twisted but rearranged itself into a story reuniting family. This captures the mind from start to finish. Easy to tell you are an admirer of Poe :-)

blessin's, and thanks for visiting my site,

You threw me off there, too. I had just watched a biography of Jack Nicholson where he found out, after their deaths, that his mother was actually his grandmother, and his sister was really his mom! Thanks, William.
