A vestige of the Hippie will
always remain in me,
Faith found in a universal sharing
of Love and of peace.
We looked at what was
and had the courage to
believe in what could be...
anything was possible within
the eternal and spiritual dream
of our society.
The ageless and memorable
revolution of this place has
been sold out by most
to the nameless and shadowed
corporate face;
sold out to be able to share
in the deceit and cold selfishness
of the corporate machine.
And why would they agree
with the concept of Love and peace
There is far more profit
in war and disease.
Left in a time of nowhere,
unable to even remember
the free, unfettered spirit who
once believed in you and me...
the one who once vowed never, ever
to do what we had been told must be...
and to hold on strong -
to the spirit of, "The Hippie."
