There it rests in the reeds
Along a quiet marsh
Darkened wood with rusted sutures
Weather worn and harsh
One lone oar lays aside
A crabtrap tossed and broken
The quiet breaks for a small sloop
Shiney, new and oaken
Between the two the memory
Lies in the older boat
For painted flakes that dot the sides
For the memories still afloat
So true, sort of compares well to life this poem. I feel like the old dory on the shore as my younger gerenration wave on the way by but it is still a great place for the grandchildren to play as is grandpa house.
