This is the tears of war. The fees we pay for freedom. It is battle's destiny that touches home in it's final tribute.

*Susan*

Poem Artwork

Ave Maria echoes from the rafters of the domed cathedral
It pierces the silence of doom that befriends the dead
Organs become mute to voices of angels here for burial
Where war returns the Patriot to his beloved unafraid
Colors of bravery cloak the pine as tears wash over his courage
Grief is alive while bravery is spoken instead
Mortals grieve for the Gods of Destiny
Festooned with wings now the sons of the Dead
Ava Maria the chorus of angels sing to the spirits
While hearts reach out for love that will never be fed.

Soft tender tears felt for love lost without rhyme or reason...
Your words are tender and gently remind us of the love that lives beyond the grave. Thank you for sharing this promise of hope...

Sexy Susan can write deeply, when she has a deserving reason.
In this one, you've given us reason to pause and realize that death, especially, resulting from a, "Cause," IS the supreme sacrafice. For those who fell in our wars, you redeem our inadequacies !

Thank you, Susan. - Bill

This heart wrenching epic fills the blank page like an artist fills a blank canvass. You have trapped the very essence of death, church and soul moving on to a higher realm and the choice of Ave Maria as a gathering word was excellant. Big poem from a big hearted lady.
