Moments pass us by and still we ask ourselves why
Or we seek the road with no deadend and keep perservering
Whispering when?
We dally in our existence and never reach for the depth
We hedge the promises to oursleves and mask emotions
Without respect.
We sing to an orchestra without knowing the words
So we hum
We doubt our own initiatives until we all become
Undone
We run so fast we miss the treasures
We think we have but know no better
We stay content in the maze of run around and continue dazed
Until the road ends and then we see
That we were blind in oursearches...
Refused to believe
Life is simple and not a maze but one fulfilling with the days
The ones we spend with treasures deep
The ones that make us all complete.

Everything's disposable and convenient and we seem never to be content with where we are or what we have. A constant stream of noise and information litters our minds. Always with an eye towards tomorrow, we miss what is. If this write isn't an epistle of modern life, I don't know what is...

A restful refuge in the midst of confusion and chaos, your words; thank you!

We are here to observe, ponder and change matters in a changing world. Nothing of what we believe may be true, none of our hopes may be fulfilled, but all that will change too. It matters not what we want, what we long for, all that counts is our complete surrender to the Light, that will engulf us, flood us and cleanse us. The rewards of such a decision will dwarf any recompense mankind is capable of conjuring. Although this option may not even be on the list of choices of many, we can do it. Even if it means we have to rid ourselves of old habits that belong to this illusion designed for the blind and those incapable or unwilling to reflect on the true meaning of life.

Lucky are we who have found that treasure that makes us so complete.

It is when we stop questioning, wondering, hopeing, imagining and dreaming that our lifes start to wind down. without the intricacies of love, romance, heartache, desires, passions, and even plain old lust we are not really living only existing. You and I who have lived wonderfully painful but full lifes no this.

Sometimes we miss the simplicity of life with all of its confusion around us. Your poem shows why being alone and silent at times can do wonders for us in all ways. We are far too busy thinking we have to be occupied every second. It's fear of the unknown that keeps people so busy. Excellent work Susan!

Life is only complicated when we make them. If we choose to live simple we can. To each his/her own happiness.

The simple things in life are the most important...
How very true it is, that we never see the woods for the trees...

Little things mean a lot, and we should cherish and preserve the precious moments and memories of existence...

I like Susan Kathryn de Vegter, better. True, yes so true, we search much too hard for love and treasures and whatever else we strive for and in that mad dash we hurt feelings, shatter hearts, and generally make a damn mess of things. But, if we are lucky, before our zip code become either Heavenly or Devilish, we find true happiness, or more likly that true happiness is dropped in our laps. Good poem, got me going.
