IT DOES HIT YOU WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT. Why am I writing in uppercase?
Finding love can be harder than spotting a deer but of course you find it when you're not looking or when you don't need. It's hard work holding on to love. Maybe in the spirit realm we can merge with whomever we like, but down here it's more complicated. Thanks for these loving lines, Susan.
Your thought brought to mind the surreal line from Lennon's Across the Universe, 'limitless undying love which shines around me like a millions suns, it calls me on and on across the universe.'
The potency of love is that it does indeed contain the substance to last a lifetime, seen and unseen in dreams, and beyond in memories and into infinity. Lovely to read that your love finds fulfilment in the object of your dream: the man in your life.
Augustine wrote that man is a restless wonderer without love in his life. He meant the love of God, but we are certainly ufulfilled without human love.
Thanks for stirring these thoughts through your short but succinct poem.
