Poem Artwork

And when nights dreams are finished
When sun comes breaking through
My lips will still be famished
For a loving taste of you
When dreaming time has passed it's prime
When sunlight hides it's goal
I raise my head from lonely bed
Reach for my kindred soul
Then with a smile he will return
In veiled attempt to shadow
The morning light that fades the night
As if nothing else much matters
I lie in comfort , earth bound...
As thoughts of midnight fly
Then he'll return to ease that burn
Then kiss awake my eyes.

Life is but a beautiful dream, hmmmmmmmmmm...until romances comes along and sweetps you off your feet and the kisses you wake to will remind you of the ones you tasted upon falling asleep...
I just had to do that, Susan...must be these lips of mine and the imagination you've encouraged.
"Kiss awake my eyes" is just a sumptuous image, my friend.

Taylor

What can I say? When all my dreams are over, I'll be deader than a door nail. Until then, I'll kiss the lips of Dawn, or Fawn or whatever her name is. ;-)

Sweet.

Such sweet intimacy conveyed through your perfectly flowing rythmic lines Susan! I really like this one and I particularly like the art you chose, done in the tradidion of the Japanese print.

Your romance is classical in its flavor. Perhaps I'm influenced by the picture but this reminds me of oriental love poems. Victor
