Our Angels work so hard each day
They fly and check on us
With halos golden, lightening sparks
They brighten up our dark
If we're afraid they sit right there
Then gently whisper "here"

To warm up all our souls
We never think that we're alone
They hold us in their folds

These Guardian Angels, we each have one

Upon our lives they watch each day
They diligently sit
Then when we need a miracle
Our name is etched on it
Then given with a gentle nudge
To let us know they're near
These Miracles from winged friends
Who always whisper "here".
Oh yeeeeeeeeeeeeesss... Takes me RIGHT back to all me Angel theology of a while ago, with tiny white feathers turning up in my life all over the place, just when I needed them... And City of Angels is one of my all-time fav flicks. "Here" indeed... and there and everywhere... I SWEAR I was awoken a few months' ago by the light of one disappearing who had been sitting at the head of my bed, peering down into my face as I slept. The electrical impulse of that "shock" sensation stayed with me all day... And, as we know, there are Angels dressed as inexplicable "friends" who just drift in and out of our daily lives at a point of need and are never seen again. Thank you for this classic and pictoral portrayal of what we cannot prove but know to be so true. LOL Kate xx

This is so lovely and so very true, Susan. I have encountered this myself. I have an angel who is always there for me. I don't know what I would do without her. She brightens up my darkest days and the best part of it is, I know she will never leave me -she promissed. Great write!

And sometimes, Belle-o-the-vision-mist-of-Cytherea, they even appear in the flesh to offer a hand. Everyone in my family has had an angelic encounter - at least once and has known it afterwards. Many never know. They do change your life. Blessings to you.

P.S. As to your question - these coral anomalies are located in a place called Oski's Grotto. The Grotto is located 2800 feet below the earth in southern Utah. I've written about it in the MONUMENTAL JOURNEY SERIES. The Heimdall crew has been there.
What a lovely surprise! I was expecting a poem about birds (which would not have disappointed me in the least!), but found a poem about angels. Your poem is gentle with a strong message of care, as they are...both gentle and strong. I'm left feeling grateful. Thanks for reminding me.
I love it when our winged friends pay me a visit, during a time of crisis, when I am sad or burdened, and sometimes when we lest likely expect we see an angelic smile in a stranger we pass in the store or ont the street, our guardian angel...where would we be without them? I feel as though when we somehow miracleously miss a car coming straight toward us, or someone runs a red light and barely misses us...yes, our guardian angel is on call! Enjoyed this much my friend.

I certainly believe in guardian angels. The apostle Paul tells us that when we encounter a stranger in need or who attends our need, that we could be entertaining angels unaware.
When I awoke from serious illness some years ago, there was a male nurse seated at the foot of my bed looking at my hospital notes. Cut a long story short, he tenderly reassured me that all was going to be well. I never saw him again. I learned that he was entering the priesthood. A gain for the church if ever there was one.
In the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh, I was approached by a beggar. His face was unusually fresh and bore a very disarming smile. The mood of his voice was gentle and melodic in tone. He asked for money but in a way that seemed secondary to asking how I WAS. I never gave him anything (policy), but when I turned to look at him walk away he was gone, as if he had vanished. I was left with pangs of guilt. Was he an angel sent to prompt me at that time to examine my conscience? Who knows. One can get a bit sentimental about these things but that impact was compelling.
Lovely work Susan...and even more special when someone loves you enough to think of you as his Angel.

Beautifully said, Susan (as always). I love your exacting skill with meter and the ease of your rhyme. My Muse is my Guardian Angel and she has given me many of my poems (all I had to do was write them down), so I can easily link to this poem's message. Good one!
