I'm reposting it here to remind us that election time is also the opportunity for change. Make your vote count.
"There you see Mount Rushmore,"
"I own it !" she blurted out
Well what about the White House
In a long and hot breathed shout,
"That's mine too !" She bellowed
"As well as the cherry blossoms"
"I also own a statue
In New York...out on the water"
I have a huge jet plane
Air Force One they call her
Can fly it too, well, sort'a
You see I am a Tax Payer
And my money is in control
Even when Bill Clinton
Abused his rock and roll
I paid for that, *Imagine*
That blue dress of 'what's her name'
I could get my money back
On EBay ... in lieu of fame
I have responsibilities
Too vast to even mention
I own so much that I don't need
On a small retirement pension.

As tax payers we do own the country, It's time we send the message to the politicians that we don't like what the goverment is doing
with our country. Great write. Congrats.
I can well understand why they chose this...it is wonderful and real. Although not an American the same lousdy politics are found elsewhere as well and on my small pension I go further in the hole each day. We can vote but the choices are one bad apple or a rotten pear...
Who's in charge? that's the question, because once they are elected your goose is cooked, and whatever they promised you can measure to what they have promised to the boys with the campaign big-bucks.
By now, all Americans should had learn to be screwed without protesting every time!
Not crazy about the choices for President--can I vote for Garfield the cat?? *LOL* Excellent write; if one doesn't vote, then they don't have the right to complain, as Karla said.

Worthy of reposting - if one doesn't vote, they have no right to complain, I say - make your voice heard. Powerful lesson in humorous lines - only problem is, not too fond of any of the choices we've been given - can I vote for Rufuz? :) Well done, Susan.
