A Poem to a Friend

Thoughts of you are as everyday...as seconds are to time
I can dream each curled up lip as if each smile were mine
The sparkle you have when you look...way off to catch a dream
The stretch you give to movements from fingers in life's stream
The grin that bursts from laughter....hiding in your head
The mighty ways you have so strong when others think too big
You scale their dream and go for broke and when I think you're through
You take one step a little further just because you're you
You donate all you have to polish what is new
Then when I think you have no more you have much more to prove
You...you are the genius...with a child who plays inside
This man whose spirit runs to romp and with his passion...rides
The amazing difference in your soul is when it goes so high
You simply step off dreams' steep cliff and fly...oh yes...you fly
You, dear friend, are the spirit reaching for the blue
You beat courage in my heart then take a kiss or two
Just leave me something to get by in case there comes the chance
To hold much tighter to the dream that asked me here to dance
A true man of his word...with far off dreams that play
So often thinking "what if"...comes...then takes my heart away.

Long gone yesterdays and far away futures are the same. We are merely graciously shown what dimensions are. When we're ready for it and are shown other dimensions yet, we will understand.
