A poet writes of dreams and pain

Of love ... of life and death

Forgotten hearts and souls who search

Quixote and his quest

The finer lines that tether souls

To keep them within reach

The hectic part that goes so fast

With words that cry , to teach

That life is given equal chance

For those who love with grace

That hearts can meet their mate and dance

When passion leaves it's ache

When love is called to come again

Then justify those hearts

Whose days had passed and gone away

Forgotten with sad thoughts

That once again love can call

Then win this war of souls

When future stock is called upon

Then take these two to hold

When love comes out from deep within

The blindside of the heart

Take hold of trembles, shivers, shakes

Then make a brand new start

Then poets write of just these times

When love is Camelot

When Lancelot and Gwynn are bound

To warm and fuzzy spots

When Hepburn and her Tracey

Are the ones that make the moves

Then Rhett and Scarlette bound the stairs

To upper, cozey rooms

When fair-haired teens are Romeos

When Cinderella schemes

When poets write the words we know

And wish for in our dreams

Writers give us hope and pain ...

They identify our Muse

We read and fit ourselves to words

Their characters and truths

They give us faith in future form

They give us all a love

They give us change, then give us worth

We fly ... then pull , we shove

For two, so sure ... so pure and winged

With life upon a whim

With hearts that fly above our world

Embracing love within

The poets of our earth are here

To give us all the chance

To kiss the kiss of perfection

Then "Valentine Romance".
