J.Albert,
You'll know this spot well. It is Hunting Island near Beaufort, South Carolina. For my peers and guests it is an island as pure and raw as the day the world was born. It is lost in time along the East Atlantic seaboard.
It is where I find my Muse at times.

Susan*

Do you know what I saw today?
   A sky of opal jewels
   Extraordinary colors
   Pastels of shining beauty
   Fluid whisps of silver streaks
   Clouds of whitest pearls
Baby blues that jumped the sun
   Like Monet's sky of swirls
Just when the evening shade came down
   The sky deepened to navy
   Then tiny illuminescent stars
   Appeared in midnight gravy
The night had come and in it's wake
   A miracle had passed
Til day was done and once again
   The master 's final grasp
Each stroke was like a deep caress
   Turning light to grays
   Creating contrast within this art
And a night for all our days.

Ah Susan, this is indeed beautiful and you are fortunate to have the chance to view this transition and write of it so well. You are so right, this island is unique and untamed and also...giving up the ghost in its slow return to return to the sea, for the sea waits for no man, no island...waits for nothing, for it is the sea. The last time there we stayed at a condo between Lady's Island and Huntington Island, a place called Harbor Island, In fact, the condo we stayed at was perhaps 2 miles from where you are standing. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short by Hurricane Floyd. This is a wonderful place to capture your muse, which you seem to have done. Take care,

J. Allen

Beautiful, Susan. Spring is probably popping out everywhere there, or very soon will be. I guess we have a few weeks yet here in Virginia.
Best regards,
Leland
