From the bright canvas I have set before you.
Fix your eyes upon the rosy hued orb
In which I have set a future for your gaze.
Lest you see what lies ahead.

Look not away, he whispers,
From the technological toys of communication
I have placed in your cyber playpen
Lest you see how the toys replace the art,
And information and communication are not the same.
And knowledge is not wisdom.

Look not away, he urges,
From the sleight-of-hand miracles
Of wonder drugs and artful scalpels.
Lest you see how they only treat that which need not exist.
And more is created than is ever cured.

Look not away, he murmurs,
From bright, shiny machines that intoxicate
With power, rhythm, and speed.
That sleep not and care not for the living.
Lest you see that they vainly try to replace
An unmatchable perfection
Rejected only because it was created by One greater.

Look not away, he implores,
Lest you follow that other path
And share not in the fiery pit of my fate.
Lest your eyes be opened and the veneer of my gilded facade
Crumble before you, crushed beneath the hammer of truth.

Look not away, he cries,
Lest you die not with me.
