Alone in bed I dream of him
in ways I can't explain.
The sweetest dreams lull me to sleep.
A windowsil covered in rain.
Thoughts of him will suffice
until time allows me to see
the man I oblige my thoughts
and with whom I want to be.
For now I'm content with dreams
that are sweeter than I please
but life promises something better
...until then just a tease.
Every night I'm accompanied
with a candy dream I can't resist
because every morning I wake
to find a candy appled kiss.
The wait is prolonged even more
when warmly hugged by his mist
a lightness falls all around us;
an embrace no angel could resist.
Held with such a firm kindness
easily fooled when I first awake
until the tears I cried when missing you
fell down my cheeks; they weren't fake.
Early Works is an exhaustive compilation of the first decade of the poems and stories of Z.B.McClure. Included are family photos, rare personal photos, photos of 1st draft manuscripts of many of his early poems. Also some biography and memoir materia
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
