if we wished upon a star
that belay our eyes the same,
would it be like a prayer;
strength in saying it again?

would the star taste destiny,
or rescue us from our fear?
a picture perfect moment
trapped; can the star even hear?

if we danced under the moon
faded into the moon beams,
a moment we might not know;
would that only be a dream?

would the moon serenade us,
or rescue us from our dark?
a catchy little love song
whispered; our only real ark.

if we lived in our silence
to what inside us lives: dead.
would we be happier
having never ever said?

but what if we wished on stars,
every single one we'd see.
not knowing the other wished.
it's love, could it really be?
