This poem talks about my message and the type of poetry that I write. I know it’s not for everybody, but I believe there is an audience for the simplistic manner in which I write.
*MY POETRY ISN’T PERFECT* but I continue to rehearse. With all of my best poetry I try to plant a seed. Hopefully, which begins to grow until it answers someone’s need. I like to have a rhythm and my verses usually rhyme, but if that’s really all it does then it’s just a waste of time. It usually has a message and there often is a purpose. I like for it to say something more than appears upon the surface. Some are just for fun, others are thought provoking. Sometimes I’ll be serious, but quite often, I’ll just be joking. I don’t write like Shakespeare, or even Robert Frost, but those few times I get it right my message comes across. I might write about passion, or fences needing mended. And, sometimes what I write has only one intended. The therapy is in the writing, though the reader sometimes profits. So, it’s likely I’ll continue until I get the urge to stop it. Every day another message, a few more words in verse. My poetry isn’t perfect,

Your verses make me very sad that we (the human race) after eons are still relying on our "troops" to go and get killed for us. Very sad. Thank you for sharing your perspective, Richard. Love and peace,

I usually don't read anyone who posts three poems at once, I see no need for it and it makes me want to run away. But I read these mainly because of the nature of them. America has gone through a fifty year, at least, brainwashing from kindergarten to the university level blaming us for all the ills of the world. That is the ONLY reason Hussein was elected president of this once great country. I say once great, because the majority of us are more interested in Brittney's latest sexapade (she has been quiet lately) or which next pro basketball player is going to shoot someone outside a nightclub, or what Oprah say about whatever the hell she is walking about on a given day. Okay. so I'm rambling, but not really, I'm just disgusted with this country these days. Good poems. All of 'em.
