You know a lot of people feel exactly the same way! I read the newspaper every single morning...and rarely do I read about anything positive in life! It's the same thing with tv news....it seems the media pays way too much attention to negativity! Perhaps if they aired something that had an upbeat feel to it....more people would be able to view it without getting depressed. That said, the world at large doesn't have a lot of positive stuff going on most of the time. Really enjoyed your upbeat rhythm in this piece, Richard!

My sentaments exactly Dick! I don't watch tv either. For the same reason. But you just can not escape it. Its out there and at some point you get mud slung in your face colored with the trash they sell on tv or in the paper.lol well you know what I mean. Great read.

I do suppose that sometimes, ignorance is bliss!

I don't watch the news or read the papers either. I have enough current events in my own life that depress me. I don't need to read other peoples. Sometimes I'll hear someone talking about something that has happened and I'll ask "who did that?" My husband will look at me strangely and say "What rock have you been under." The world will probably come to an end and we will all be asking each other..."When did that happen and who did it?" Maybe the answer will be we did because we didn't stay informed huh?

They need to change the name of the news shows to the depression shows. Most 'news' today is extremely depressing.

To each his or her own and can't say that I blame you either. Me I like to gather the facts, not hearsay, the facts, and decide for myself, leaving all pundits behind in the dust...

A well written wisdom. After a few experiences I've had, with reporters, I realized that the news is often not accurate and that some reporters have serious control issues and use their position to manipulate people into thinking and believing what they want them to. Who wants to be subjected to that? I am sure there are some reporters who have integrity and heart. But how do we know who is who and what is or is not true?

I am also a newsless person lol, I only buy a paper for the crossword puzzle if I need to kill time, I only watch NASCAR and the odd comedy movie on TV and what news I do get is what is on the radio while I am driving because it is too much of a pain to shut it off in between my country music lol
