Here in Mexifornia the governor just signed the dream act which provides public, read taxpayer money to pay for the college tuition of illegal alien students. One can argue that it's cheaper than incarceration of the uneducated who turn to crime, but it is a Federal crime to hire an illegal alien, regardless of educational status. Nuts. Patrick

Some valid and some not so points. My problem is that our law is structured in a way that if a child is born here, they are American. It is a point of much contention when parents of 10-year-olds are asked to leave and their children are Americans that have never known Spanish or anything about their parents' country. We need to change the law that if someone is born in this country to illegal parents they are not legal.

Even Pres. Obama who's auntie lives in Boston illegally admits that she should be deported if that's what the law states.

There are those that stand to gain from illegal immigration (can I say Bush?). As long as people like that are in power no real immigration reform will take place. The problem is not immigration, it is population control. If countries do not control their population in their own country, then the world has hell to pay.

I completely agree with your every word. I don't have a crystal ball to find out what the future hold for the good ole U.S. of A. but unless things change, future generations are going to be living in a very sad and depressed country.

If you think no one will do the jobs

that the illegal workers do,

it’s time to open your mind.

I wish that were true, my friend, but it's often not the case. I just read about an Arizona lettuce farmer's sad plight. He's in his 80s, his own children and grandchildren won't do the manual labor, and when he advertises in Arizona papers for Lettuce Pickers - he gets no takers, at all. So he is forced to use illegal workers who he says never complain, and who work very hard picking his lettuce all day long.

There are sadly many jobs today in our nation that many refuse to do.

I feel your frustration especially when I am standing in line behind 3 women with plastic cards buying a truckload of food [that I pass up because I'm on a budget] and not only can they NOT speak english, they don't understand the currency or that their card only had $500 so they have to put something back. Ok, that was more than my two cents but I'm not sorry.

I have been told, not directly, but still, that I am the wrong nationality/color to get any government benefits till I am old enough, & then maybe not due to so many using them up now...that expresses my feelings about illegals who can get taken care of...I'd better stop here...e
