Standing in a world of,
a soul has to survive above.
Alone in a ocean about to drown,
watch out,
things may go down.
Pulled this way,
forced astray.
Trying to survive another day,
in lifes game of play.

Others with their hands out,
don't help they pout.
Give in we may lose,
its best to wisely chose.
Number one care,
others second fare.

A sunrise shining on all,
the sun sets to selfish thrall.
Guided by forces of kindness,
some eyes cloud in blindness.
Darkness to others of trick,
unwise until the pin prick.

Moved to depend,
forced to offend,
carefirst must defend.
Looking out for number one,
getting the job done,
even as the web is spun,
surviving the stun,
refusing to run.
Don't carefirst,
can't serve another
thirst.

Well, Grady, it seems that you have just gone and upset some folks with this one. I know the feeling. This was an in-your-face good poem which said quite a lot about how the world is today. But then, most of your poetry is that way. Write on!

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
