One big success is
worth a thousand failures.
Of course, we will fail,
before we excel.
I have failed so much,
success lost its touch.
I'm still failing to win,
but I will not bend !
When I was a young man,
failure frightened again and again.
Failure was like a ghost haunting,
always in my face daunting.
I was afraid to fail in life,
it sliced at my heart like a samuri knife.
Every time I faced a mirror,
failure flashed me a sign inferior.
Well, those days are over,
failure no longer has me running for cover.
Here in my older years,
failure is my friend with cheers.
It can't scare me anymore,
I'll go down failing to the floor.
Criticize me,
shun me,
hate me,
beat me,
don't review me,
whatever do me,
You've got to take my breath,
put death in my path.
I've got to be killed,
my body forever chilled,
before I can be stopped dead,
failure no longer affects my head,
not trying at all does instead.

On the other hand, there's the other kind of success that's mean, selfish, hateful, uncaring, and does not leave the world better. Yes, some are successful because of their wealth and prestige, but it's the pathway to destruction.
I'm not criticizing, shunning, hating, beating, or not reviewing you. I consider you a friend. For some reason lately I have not been notified of yours or the other's work. Sometimes I become overwhelmed and I begin to delete, but I do leave behind one of each and then check in to see what everyone is doing.
I haven't been able to find the time lately to write. The yard work, housework, different organizations I belong to, the baby showers, my health issues, and other writing have been taking up my time.
I'll do my best to stop once and awhile to say, Hi, and I care. Hey, I enjoy your poems and I even display some. Please do the same.
In Christian love,
Patty
