if we didn't at least try to smile,
our frown would take over,
then there would be a cloud cover.
like a rainy day,
the sun would be gone away.
darkness would loom,
inside our gloom,
affecting our outside bloom.

with a bad storm outside,
we would have to stay inside.
storms don't last forever,
getting outside would be our endeavor.
so i wipe this down,
pull my face out of the frown.

my face wants to be in the sun,
so my heart and soul can fun.
who wants to be inside all the time,
when there's a nice breeze in chime?
if i can keep this frown gone,
my sun will shine on.
