Each day,
I get up and say,
"I'm going to be happy,
forget feeling crappy."
I feel crappy anyway,
regardless of what I say.
But the thought still stays,
improves my days.
Circumstances may prevail,
but my positive attitude
continues to excel.
My body may need a lift,
but my mind stays swift.
Got no more time,
come on lets chime.
I practice what I preach,
forcing my tired body to reach.
There's gold in those hills,
I dig for the thrills.
Something good is buried
some place,
got to dig for the ace.
My body chases my brain,
trying to get out of the rain.
I sit and I think,
write joy in my ink.
Right on the tip of my fingers,
joy of mind lingers.
Still my body feels like chit,
can't get with it.
There's gold in those hills,
I write and dig for the thrills.
I have a vision of love,
I push and I shove,
I love to feel good,
I fight for this mood.
I know where I'm going,
my brain knows what it's doing.
Come on body,
get with the brain,
no time for the drain.
You're holding us back,
do something or I'll attack.
Finally the old body catches up,
we're no longer corrupt,
the chit ends abrupt.
I jump and I flip,
enjoy the hard earned zip.
No more time to be down,
got to get up
and
move around.
