The music was playing, the dance floor was almost empty. Hardly anyone was dancing, they were just sitting. On the corner of the dance floor, was a man in a wheel chair.
He was rotating the chair, to the sound of the music. Beside him was his mate, dancing on good legs. I felt sorry for the man, he wanted to dance so bad.
Immediately I jumped up, danced for as long as I could. My wife followed, she also understood.
Although the man might not have physically been able to dance on two feet, he could have taken his partner on his lap and wheeled to the music--have seen many do that. It is so romantic and tender a moment that it brings tears to my eyes.
These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
Although the man might not have physically been able to dance on two feet, he could have taken his partner on his lap and wheeled to the music--have seen many do that. It is so romantic and tender a moment that it brings tears to my eyes.
Good write!
