Demon's whole game is to scare us. Once we are no longer afraid they lose their effectiveness. There are several ways to get rid of the fear or to deal with it.
(1)Faith in God (2)face the fear head on and hope it doesn't kill you (3)ignore it and hope it never catches up. Example of this is my wife, she's afraid of bears. Everytime we go home she gets afraid on the Cherokee Indian reservation. After 30 some years of visiting and living in the area of the Great Smoky Mountains I've never seen one bear other than in the zoo so I tell my wife to relax. I'm afraid of sharks, so in no way am I going to try and face a fish big enough to eat me, so I stay out of shark infested waters and don't worry about it. Anyway most things that scare us never show up in reality. Jolly went a step further by using his demons to make himself stronger. Jolly told his demons he would die first rather than to keep on living in fear. Then he proved it to them so they backed off and practically became friends with him because they respected his courage and resolve. Remember this is poetry so don't take this too serious. If you have a real fear problem go get some professional help. Anyway some fear is normal, fear gets dangerous when it freezes us up. Like being afraid to drive across big bridges. On to Jolly
The demon of anger, pointed his slimmy finger. Jolly felt him near, but didn't fall for his fear. Instead he welcomed him in, prayed for peace from within. The demon got caught up in the prayer, almost cleaned while there. He then got mad, didn't like being had. But he had no power over God, in whole or in part.
Jolly learned to control his anger, then pointed back the finger. He then ordered the others, to join him and be brothers. First they resisted, thought Jolly was head twisted.
After they got over being furious, they took Jolly more serious. They felt his control grip, so they joined in for the trip. Jolly and his demons united as one, it was that or be none.

This was really cute! A good way to start my day, with a laugh. Oh, and by the way, I hate sharks too, and the thought of bear being nearby might possibly cause me to crap my pants! Thanks Holly
