Here in Baltimore you're not even safe inside your house. This lady was upstairs getting ready for work when a bullet came through her window and killed her. There was a drive by shooting outside in her neighborhood, bullets started flying everywhere, she was one of the victims. Supposedly the young man targeted got away.
These dues, they're enough to give one the blues. Seems we're never paid up, this life is so dirty and corrupt. Most of the time we can't trust our friends, we dig in our pockets and we find no ends.
Life is like a big vaccum cleaner, everyday it sucks and gets meaner. Life doesn't seem to be worth a dollar, makes one won't to scream and holler. We either pay up our dues, or we lose our walking shoes. And sometimes when we pay the collector won't stay away.
I'd like to get a reciept for paid in full, instead all I get is some dog gone bull. I get tired of paying, when each and everyday I'm decaying. Sooner or later I'll be gone, and the collector will still be sitting on his throne.
