Down in my sorrow I was submerged,
that is until the good times urged.
Then the dark and light merged,
the light overwhelmed and surged.
I just couldn't stay down,
I knew I had to get up and fly around.
Thoughts of love for this verse,
how it feels to write in reverse.
So I was feeling bad,
maybe I can write myself away from this sad.
Patch azz and be more glad.
Glad that I'm warm and snug,
snuggled up on this warm rug.
In front of this great big fireplace,
feeling the warm heat on my body and face.
Jack!
Actually I have no fireplace,
but I do have a great furnace.
I'm not on a warm rug,
but my warm pj's do snug.
And I'm crawling out of this submarine,
the air above is so fresh and clean.
Down below stale and mean.
I just can't stay below,
this submarine has to go.
I'm trading it for something that will fly,
that I can reach way up high,
maybe even the sky.
Even these words,
fly me with the birds.
Here's the disection,
if there needs to be a correction,
poetically I'm headed in the right direction.
Up, up and away,
it's more fun to play.
