Short Break

Sometimes breaks end up taking advantage.

A short break,
ended up being a long take,
I knew it was a mistake.
A mistake enjoyed,
quite a bit of stress destroyed.
I'd do it again,
in fact I can't wait for the sin.

I was thinking through my brain one day,
when I heard a negative thought say,
you done messed up,
a positive thought went,
but you don't feel corrupt.
I broke on down on my butt,
after awhile jumped up and
did the chicken strut.

I know I was acting like a nut,

but I gave perfection a break,
the heck with the mistake.
Tired of serving perfection,
feels great to make the dissection.
Perfection can wait,
it don't control my fate!

I don't know what you mean by perfection, for I'm not, nor have I ever met a perfect person. So how could you or anyone take a break from perfection? The only perfect person who ever lived was Jesus Christ. Do you mean that you took a break from striving to be perfect or from thinking that you are perfect? We might strive to be perfect, but none of us can live our lives perfectly, but to believe we are perfect is a common human trait.

I like the rhyme in this poem, but I not sure about it's message.

Best wishes,
Pat

Hurray! Perfection can wait indeed, your vacation is well needed and make alot of mistakes, that is the sure route to success! We all get tired of trying to be perfect....and as you rightly said, it doesn't control your fate.

I'm a neatness freak but sometimes I just say the hell with it and let someone else pick it up.

Right on! Very good. Sometimes when duty calls, it is great not to have a hearing aid. LOL
