The Greek's don't have to
give me an apology
I like reading the stories
in Greek Mythology
They believed in affection
Cupid was the God of love
in connection
Most of the God's mingled
with humanity
maybe this accounted for
some of the medieval insanity
On the other hand the Roman
Empire was real
the stories of Rome had a
violent cruel appeal
Humans were used for
violent entertainment
Killed and devoured by wild
animals in containment
William Shakespeare wrote
Romeo and Juliet
a love story were lovers met
In the contemporary world
the stage is set
terrorism will be our
worse story yet
One story the modern world
will live to regret
Like the story of Rome
a terrible story to forget
