Writers write stories
fill pages and books
full of their glories
Poets will take the
same stories
verse it in their glories
Shorten up the read
more words no need

My patience is short
challenge the book I court
but I prefer verse
somehow it became
my curse
for better or worse

Dealing with words isn't easy
words will stab us in our back
the more we write
the worse the attack
Writing verse isn't much better
unless you're a devoted
go getter
and not a quitter
with fun as the main babysitter

Writing for money
your eyes maybe runny
and your ends kind of funny
Very few writers or poets
make the big time
no matter how great
they write or rhyme
