The good things are worth keeping once found.

I found life in a
world of death
how long I keep it will
depend on my health
I found love in a
world of hate
still believe it until
this time and date

I found some good
even though there's a lot of bad
I found some happy
but had to dig it out of the sad
I found some peace
after I learned not to be so mad
I found writing
during verse can be exciting
if you can make it through the fighting

Out of all the good I've found
I plan to keep it around
The good is here to stay
makes no difference
work or play
or what ever others say

Thank you, this poem is my favorite...if you never write another...if I never hear your voice again, know this Grady, you have more love and wisdom in your tiny finger than most in all they'll ever do or say, love always, always, Holly

The last line is the touch of determination -- perhaps even defiance -- the will to hang on to the good you have struggled to find and keep...your poem describes that struggle..with just a few lines you capture the essence of life...as we must live it.

Brilliant realization here.

Well done!

hugs, GEM
