because the devil is a betrayer
Put a big smile down in
your heart and soul
cause the one on your face
will certainly fold
A face smile will get slapped
clean the freak off
and the slap won't be soft
A smile from deep down
can't be slapped around
You'll take a licking

all the time feeling like a
broken clock
one that still wants to
go tick tock
Lifes kind of funny
getting beat and still feeling
like the energizer bunny
Eyes all watery and runny
the sun still shinning
bright and sunny

I've found that a smile may not be slapped if it is deep down, but in my case at least, it sure can be drowned in uncalled for and unwanted misery. I've had the smile I faced life with slapped off my face so many times I have a permanent imprint on my face. I just tell everybody it's a birthmark. Embarrassing.
