The dollar travels through the poor mans hands, right to the rich mans pockets, then we can forget being removed from their dockets.
It's probably best to stay off
any kind of drain sucking dockets
because it seems everyone
is trying to hit our pockets
even the government to
finance their rockets
Of course we've got to pay up to
keep power flowing into our sockets
These times are pretty hard
on our luck
even some wealthy folks find
it hard to pass the buck
Overhead flies the big duck
under the ocean even the fish suck
trying to get air through the oil
later on the beach suffers from
contaminated soil
Cost of the damages get passed
our way
up goes the price of gas the next day
we either walk or pay
Lord help us the faithful pray
still nothing seems to stop the decay
It seems hard times are here to stay
While the bunnies hop
they could end up in the
gravy we sop
One things for sure the value
of the dollar drops
One dollar use to buy more
but with no dollar to purchase
it's kind of hard on the poor
Can't much blame folks if they are sore
