The longer I live, the harder it get, but my heart and soul is set and do have a little regret. I know it sounds a little like advice, hey show up the way you want, or don't show up at all, it's each individuals own personal call. However if you show up too mean you won't have a ball.
Showing up nice
is a worthwhile sacrifice
Of course others maybe
cold as ice
So be very careful to add the
proper sugar and spice
because you could end up
with a frown
and your head hanging down
I showed up in the den
with a great big grin
ready to swing my pen
After awhile
I lost my smile
I was being carried by six
until twelve got me in the mix
then I learned to fix
and got educated to the tricks
It maybe a must
that you readjust
While you're going through
your changes
the whole scene rearranges
If you smile too much
others may think you're a
little out of touch
If you walk around frowning
they might start downing
and don't get to clowning
They might tag you silly
and drunk
then avoid you like a skunk
After this you really might flunk
As you work the crowd
you try to appear strong and proud
but be very careful not to
get too loud
Attitudes always will waver
but continuing to be nice
can be a life saver
and a road paver
Some people appreciate kindness
others will always be stuck in
their stupid blindness
