As I sat here in my room, fighting my own dark gloom, at times my mind sometimes just wants to go BOOM! I know there are many reasons why I should be down, however I fight the frown. My mind be searching for some light, to help win this gloom fight. I know the easiest thing to do is to give in, and let the gloom win. However, to me allowing yourself to be unhappy is the number one sin. If I had a friend inflicted with the gloom sin, I would advise him to try to fight and defend. So in being my own best friend, I scream inside to myself, fight the gloom my inner soul friend. The end!!!

This is a tough battle to fight, I have to agree. Written very nicely, Grady! I agree, but I wish I could live what you just preached, but unfortunately I have yet to learn how to control my mind like that ;)
there are several things i like about this piece 1) that you are your own best friend 2) that you have decided that you can fight this depression and mostly 3) even in the midst of this "Gloom" your energy and satisfaction in life comes forth.
