On the one yard line,
so many yards to go.
A touchdown seems
impossible. Feeling
like crap, don't want
to run, duck and dodge.
Trying to muster enough
energy to do the
impossible.
Looking down field,
right in front of me are
obstacles, real big
obstacles. Do I see
what is in my way?
Yes! Mentally they
have me, physically
they're stopping me.
But I have yards to
cover, a goal to reach.
Is it fear of or fear in?
Just what is my major
malfunction? I'm alone,
I have no other team
mates, no blockers.
The ball is in my hand.
I shed my fear, do
what I have to do.
Run like hell, do my
best. I get a hit from
the side, I dodge,
one from the front,
I duck, one from
the rear, I almost trip.
All of a sudden I'm
totally consumed,
beat down, tackled
to the ground. I came
up short, never reached
the goal. But my effort
was great, I ran my heart
out, fought like hell.
Oh sure,
I failed, but
I was on a mission
impossible anyway.
No one man could
have reached that
goal.
I wake up sweating,
feeling beaten down
physically
but
mentally
I'm fine.
I know when
the sunrises my day
will start.
It's gonna
be tough,
but I'm a
fighter.
I'll do the same as in my
dreams, I'll deal with
my fear and fight like
hell to reach my goals.
No matter how hard,
no matter how difficult,
I'm a fighter.
I'll sizzle on!
