But master,
How is it that you are so cool and calm after what all has happen to you, especially the lost of your eyesight? Does it not make you angry that your sight was taken away from you?
Yes, there is much anger inside of me grasshopper. Life has really beat up on me real bad. My anger is my biggest motivation to be a more in control person. You see grasshopper, you can choose to use your anger to make you more strong positively or you can choose to use it to make you more evil in negativity. If I allowed my anger to make me more evil, I would have lost much more than my eyesight, I would have lost my soul and probably my life. I would not be here speaking to you as I am now. Controlling my anger has allowed me to live and enjoy life
longer.
But master,
My anger makes me want to lash out at my enemies and others who do not like me. Some of the other boys try to pick fights with me because I am a half breed.
Grasshopper anger and lashing out are as normal as a beautiful sunrise and most let it rule their every action and emotion. Do you want to be like most or do you want to be different? Look at the world around you grasshopper, all of the pain and suffering. You want to learn to seperate yourself from this. The only way to do this is to be different
in a more positive way. As a priest you are suppose to lead by example. If I encouraged you to give into your anger I would not be a good priest myself. I will tell you this, and it is about as plain as I can put it. Allowing anger to rule you is a fools game. Lashing out is a worst part of the fools game.
Always remember this grasshopper, only use anger and fight when you have no other choice. Make it the last weapon in your arsenal. Be a peace maker and when you have to fight, fight to win with all your heart. Make your enemy never want to bother you ever again. Then if you
have to kill him, it will be in your heart that you had no other choice. The other boys are only jealous of you and your talent, nothing more. If you have to defend yourself, make a very good example and the rest will leave you alone.
But master,
I am ready to defend myself now, I want to fight!
Sure you do grasshopper, but if you give in to such a foolish desire, you have already lost more than the fight. You see it is not the fight and winning that is most important. The most important aspect of it all is winning with yourself. Learning self control in the face of adversity. This is the time when you practice self control, in times of true anger. Challenge yourself, don't give in to foolish human weaknesses. If you allow your
anger to win, it will rule you all your life.
Well grasshopper, I am tired now, I need to rest.
Go in peace
