I tried to help the world and I wish it well, because from here on out, forget risking my tail.

On tv old person being sprayed with mace,
on the ground with pain in the face.
Adding to an already expensive doctor bill,
still fighting over the hill.
Out protesting in the way of harm,
lucky they got off without a broken arm.
Beat up by the police,

don't they ever want peace?

I'm 53 years old,
I'm not going out and get beat up,
then maybe locked up,
for absolutely nothing,
unless it is a necessity for something.
I've been a fighter all my life,
tired of fighting the stupidty and strife.
Give me a comfortable nook,
I'll write a book,
avoid the street thug crook.

The biggest battle is on the inside anyway.
I was fighting for a better way outside,
but still hadn't won the fight inside.
Wait a minute, this is just to much,
I was losing touch.
So I got in touch with the real problem,
forget, he, she, it, and them.
The world can wait,
I had to better self relate.

My personal life was a shamble,
but on I did scramble,
trying to save the universe,
when I should have been doing the reverse.
The world is still screwed up,
but now I'm fixed up,
no longer mixed up.

Behavior in check,
personal life no longer a wreck.
I get along with my wife,
comfortable home life.
I do unto others,
the same as my sisters and brothers.
I gave up drinking alcohol,
now I don't stumble or fall.
I keep a job,
get along with my boss Bob.
Control my negative traits,
let maturity rule the relates.

How are you going be saving a world away,
when you may not be here the next day,
 buried and nicely tucked away?
Out protesting a president,
when you're almost personally hell bent.
President in the white house,
you in the big house,
caught for drunken driving,
president still partying and thriving.

Before you save the world,
make sure you're out of the woods,
and
woods are out of you.
It makes no sense to be fighting
for the outside,
when your life isn't together
on the inside.
