nameless flower,
dried and pressed
between scented pages:
your beauty lingers like solitude
after a troubling dream

kissing her
in the dark -- not one
dark thought

Spring skips along the streets,
stroking the flushed faces,
both young and old,
and drifting like desire
in the colors of the sky.
I pick a lost petal from the curb . . .
strange and wonderful, life's
tender incompleteness.
