When I read sad and ancient poems
I feel how in every detail time
sends the subtle transformations
which end at our beginning,
our lives beyond us as we rush away
thinking we know our heart's desire.
There are no perfect words
for this living. There is
nothing new or old. Here it is,
just this, just now, and just so.
Once I played with a child
who did not question my motives,
my form of play, and even the air
was music.
I felt myself standing in the center
of moments, the best of me
silent and engaged.

nice poem which is about the moment, the now, and yet is left somewhere in the past. which is wonderful considering most moments are spent trying to relive old ones.
