Grey sphere, smooth as polished marble,
one old bass, below, asleep in the silt.
If that ornery bastard could talk
this is what he'd say:
"In the long nights to come,
dream a life worth living,
dream never to wake."

Ghost of a naked woman
roaming tense meadows
of meaningless dust,
star-ache, fragmentary corona.
I sit behind walls,
fogging the windows
with my breath.

Eternity,
etched into the mind's
shoreless floe,
brings thoughts
of children and bears.
In the moment's glare -- Winter:
waking in our words and darkness.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
etched into the mind's
shoreless floe,
brings thoughts
of children and bears.
In the moment's glare -- Winter:
waking in our words and darkness."
This is awesome - not only in imagery, but the connection within the context of its message. Excellent writing, Kevin!
