She fell in love with a monster of sex while I was in love with her. He loved only her body and not her heart and soul. He disappeared when he made her pregnant. She came back to me crying and complaining. To forgive is the best way to create a lasting romantic harmony. But can everyone do that?
In my heart you had a shining spot
But you had no heart to see light
You just darted away and scampered
You left me in the middle of nowhere
You had let my heart shiver in the cold
You destroyed the only shelter it had
Loneliness became its sole companion
I live with the shadow of past dreams
You got lost in the fantasy of illusion
Infatuation lured you to a deep pitfall
Passion is the passing whim of romance
One must not go with fading bubbles
You scuttled away from a loving heart
Only to join and sing with the devil
In the jaws of deception you had fallen
You meant love but he only wanted sex
He made you grow fat in the waist
And more horribly he disappeared
You resurfaced when you felt lonely
He had done to you what you did to me
Logic says you really deserve the pain
But a lover's mind is logic proof
It is full of emotions and feelings
No matter how much deep you had hurt me
I love you honey with all my heart
Welcome honey. Welcome back
You are mine again sweetie
This cargo in you is mine too.
I still love you honey
You exude unconditional love in your poem here, Abdi-Noor. It reminds me of this definition of love: "Love has a different tune: I love you, therefore you are free to do as you wish. My love says you cannot do any wrong in my sight. My love says you cannot hurt me for it would not wish to make you responsible for the way I feel. My love says I am here for you if you want me, or I can be gone if that is what you wish. My love does not depend on your performance to exist - it depends entirely on a choice I make, moment by moment. My love accepts that you may even come to hate me for what I am and it is strong enough not to compromise itself to please you. My love cannot be manipulated. My capacity to love is infinite and is not bound by your feelings or desires." Thank you for sharing this. Love and peace to you,
Methinks it takes a saintly person to do it, Abdi Noor! ;-)This is a superb poem, one to ponder over. I commend. and respect anyone who can overcome such a situation and make a good life without recrimminations.

That's happened to me a time or two, Abdi-Noor; but I guess true love really does conquers all.
