I have a message to convey
But have no means to pass it
I write my words in papers
But 75% of Somalis are illiterate
My people are known as oral society
I feel pain for not reaching them
Such a waste has a verse in Somali
It goes like this:
NIMAN HAlKIISU GAARIN HALKI LALA RABAY
HOOHEEY WAA SIDII HAL BACAD LAGU LISAY
Meaning
A poet's work not reaching the target
Is like a she camel milked in the sand
I must take a new direction to make a change
consider your options carefully, Abdi ... their ramifications can be dangerous but then again those who have the will to change injustice must be prepared for everything ... keep the faith and continue writing, in time your words will be heard ...
I feel you Little Brother Abdi-Noor know this you may have to face many obstacles at home it's true, however, you keep those on the other side of the world grounded in reality and we pray for your strength. Love <Mikii-N_Baba>

Abdi Noor I pray you find a way. There are so many restrictions and limitations on you I can imagine how it must frustrate you! Is their a possibility that you have a small hand held recorder to record your poems and let others hear them in small groups. I hope you find a way! Bless you! Eileen
Sometimes we must all look for new ways to get our messages out, Abdi-Noor, and I truly hope you find yours because you have some powerful messages to convey.
No dear Sandie. Even the government can not hold meetings. They can only address the public through clan-based radios or get out of the country to preside meetings in America or Canada to speak with the Somalis in the diaspora. It is in that terrible and rather strange land where I live , work and write poems and books. Thanks Sandie for asking me this question and for your concern about my situation.
