Almost one third of southern regions of somalia are affected by floods as a result of excessive rains which forced our two rivers to break to their banks
Ahmed, a Somali artist and singer ran from his village to escape the floods and he ended up on top of a tree. He met there with animals, some of them dangerous, which had, too, run for safety. He befriended with them. Now Ahmed and his new friends are still on the tree with no food, no shelter and medical facilities.
In his sleep he dreams of helicopters dropping food, but in reality he only receives more drops of rain water. Ahmed and the animals are living together in the bush but their friendship will not last long as survival for the fittest will soon reign. Nearly a million somalis like Ahmed are at risk of dying from hunger or being killed by wild animals. Wher the a nation is in war and there is nolegitimate and strong authority that represents them, its people will perish in the most painful and most indecent way. Will my cries ever be heard?
With his guitar Ahmed made a good run
Behind him floods have been rambling
On top of a tree the scamper has ended
Night fell on him much quicker than expected
In the shadows of fear loneliness enthralled
But with his guitar he challenged boredom
He imagined as if he were singing on stage
Playing inside a theatre filled to its capacity
With his admirers clapping and whistling
While bringing gifts and dancing with him
But when the red arrows had dawned upon
Ahmed saw a variety of creatures around him
Sharing the same tree with him were snakes
Beside him he found a number of wild animals
They all ran away from the chasing floods
Ahmed a bit shocked but not feeling panic
Said to himself”
If we can live together at times of calamities
Why do we kill each other at times of peace
"Together in the Bush"~ "If we can live together at times of calamities
Why do we kill each other at times of peace?" What a question!, and it requires an infinite amout of answers, but only one is true...Love.

Very sad Abdi Noor it reflects not just Somalia and Ahmed but the world today and many people like Ahmed. But the day will come soon when all this will end,I think and hope much.
Dear Brother Abdi-Noor Ahmed's plight and your last two lines say it all. I begin to wonder if mankind can really stand peace and if humans aren't really the bottom of the food chain instead of the top where we pretend to be. Peace, Love, Blessings and Gratitude for caring and sharing. Grangran-n-Baba
