I think man has untapped powers to speak with nature. Plants and animals do talk; it is only we who do not understand their language. There is no doubt that plants do communicate between themselves at times of danger as one tree transmits a message to a nearby tree to alert of a possible threat which might have a devastating effect upon them. So we must love and protrect trees and all forms of nature.

Poem Artwork

In that especial corner of my house
Where I retreat after a day's work
There stand two friends gracefully
They are African type banana trees
In between them I put a Somali mat
To lie down and stretch myself a bit
And to surf the sky as I contemplate
As the stars keep winking alternately
A cool breeze touches me in the soul
And the leaves make a spectacular dance
The banana trees are part of my family
In peace we live together
In love we pray together
In harmony we speak each other

Plants and animals do talk; it is only we who do not understand their language.

I think that is sadly true, for far too many - but not for you, my friend!

Everything and everyone on this earth plays a part and nothing will ever be the same again for their presence here. All leaves its mark and even in death, we return to the earth and continue to be part of it. Beautiful poem, Abdi-Noor.
Take care,
Sherry

Trees are indeed a part of creation. They are so beautiful and graceful. They are lifegiving with all their fruit, a progeny of Eden.

thank you for letting us visit your home within this poem! I, too, am fascinated by communication between plants/animals.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
