Te first batch of peacekeepers have arrived in Mogadishu from Uganda. Many more are expected to come from several other African countries within the coming weeks.
Mired in tribalism
Drowned in anarchy
Suffocated in war
Somalia is thawing
Gasping for a breath
To bid us farewell
And to exit in chaos
Uganda have mercy please
You are a sister of Somalia
You stepped to help a sister
To save your bleeding sister
To help TFG quell violence
You are a sister of difference
Your name is sister Uganda
Uganda peacekeepers please
Please don’t lump us together
We are innocent and an unarmed
We are poor and displaced people
We are Somali women and children
We are living in obliterated camps
We are students in their classes
We are people in the market place
Struggling for our daily survival
Eking for a bread to live a day
Or facing unbearable challenges
To find a bed for the night
Shoot only those who provoke you
Shoot not us indiscriminately Boys
Find a better solution instead
Find out those behind the attacks
Write history with the ink of peace
To let the words shine like a sun
Write it not with the blood of the innocent
To create a future of conflict and revenge

Abdi-Noor that you are still writing for and to us gives me hope. Pray to God that your people will come out from this horrible testing time more determined than ever to live and give out in peace.

It seems that each new day brings new perils for you and yours, Abdi-Noor, and we truly hope and pray that a new day dawns soon in which peace and tranquility will rise again.
New Poetry by Abdi-Noor Haji Mohamed (Eagle Of Hope)
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
