We are caught up between a government that shoot its own people and insurgents who blow up bombs on the roadsides to kill everybody
In Somalia there is a government
who in the name of government
Acts as if there is no government
Flying in the air of cheerlessness
Pretending to be a dove of peace
But flapping wings of war to incite
Creating a-hard-to-settle dust of war
Sharpening the dagger of deception
Stabbing peace in the shadows of anarchy
Under cover of an operation classified as:
Remorselessly Cruel and Idiot
There we go again
We have another group
Who in the name of Allah
Act against Allah's wishes
Killing and maiming people
Thinking planting landmines
Would give them Allah's blessings
But only reap the fruits of disaster
As they harvest the anger of Allah
They are the horror groups of the century
Fighting to satisfy their greed for power
With no concern over loss of people's lives
As they are guided by Machiavellian instincts

Just as the horror of Sudan and Dafur has taken years to come to light, and even longer for the government to acknowledge, so Somalia's agony will not be healed quickly. Oh that peace would come quickly to your people!

The things man performs all in the name of God. God wants compassion not sacrifice. Victor
Even from afar the scarce documentaries about Somalia shown on tv send shivers down my spine. Being right there in the middle of it must be horror beyond imagination. And I was driven out of the land where I lived because a neighbouring country started to throw bombs. This world has gone insane and a lot of the insanity is caused by ignorance. Ignorance concerning true faith in high non-earthly powers, ignorance concerning socioligy, politics, science etc. But what strikes me increasingly hard however, is the fact that compassion is fast becoming a rare commodity in this world. Insanity and compassion never go well together. Such posts as here in this poem / message must make people think. The feeling that they are safe, not anywhere near such atrocities is a false perception. These situations have a tendency to spread. We are just fortunate not to be in the middle of treacherous violence. It gives us an obligation to think and act against it. Thank you for sharing. I wish you strength and good luck with situation and the crusade you are in to fight it. Take care,
U

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
