A couple is celebrating their 31st anniversary of their marriage. They are my friends and I dedicate this poem to them. The husband reads this as his wife smiles.

Before you came into my life
Many girls have been in my life
But no girl has ever reached my life
As much deep as you touched my life

I still remember the day the sky rained love
When the gates of mercy had flung open
Sweeping gloom with brooms of serenity
Letting dreams of hope shine with joy

It was a day not only our eyes have met
But also a day our hearts have spoken
Winds of love have made whispers of love
As they blew over the shores of our feelings

31 years have elapsed since that day
But its memory is as much alive in my mind
As a spark of a fresh romantic frenzy
Glowing deep in the alleys of my soul
Like the soothing flicker of a romantic candle
