Fearfully holding my hand out to him

hoping our love would be more than a whim.

I cried out, singing in my best siren's voice

who we are to each other is not our own choice.

As he slept through the early morning light

I sought a presence, an inviting respite.

There within his arms my head did lay

as literally my night, turned into his day.

Walking each, through the others desires

our minds erupted, rebirthed from the fire.

Holding back, fearing what could be, no it isn't

helplessly melting into insecurities arisen.

Dreams could be possible, yes that's what we thought

lest not two lovers stay alone, with hope overwrought.
