I have taken Yesterday
wrapped it in time and space
aligned it with previous weeks and days
placed it all among Silver Months;
plucked stars down for your hair,
laid down silly smiles;
lover's whisperings;
silent sittings;
cryptic notes;
walks into fading light;
glancings,
breathings
hands outreaching
and they'll all not
convey
the way it was
to be with you.
I'll not count the fathoms deep
I've seen in your eyes;
or my dingy
floating there
with me my hands raised
in sweet surrender.
I'll not measure
the paper thin
separation between us
causing electricity
to jump the gap
make the spark
and you say" did you do that?"
I'll place awe, my own,
into the center of things
when I see and feel
two souls
cross the paper thin;
each soul
becoming the other;
each sigh
first a tiny trembling
and later the raging
body-storm.
